One Fine Day : Mango Sticky Rice

Anytime I see "rice" or "mango," I have very high expectations. The mango here is slightly candied, not the realistic juicy, fleshy sweetness with that little tang at the end. There is also a tea-like quality from the davana that seems to influence the mango. The coconut is giving coconut cream. It's milky, but creamy, with the vanilla enhancing that creaminess even more. And MITH is gonna give you something floral no matter what. The jasmine is tucked behind all the foodie bits, giving them a slight lift. What I don't get is glutinous rice. There is none of that warm, chewy, starchy quality I associate with mango sticky rice. This isn't savory at all; it's mostly milk, coconut and creaminess. After a few minutes, the scent just goes awry on me. The fruit and cream become heavy, beat-down and muddled together. I don't like it.

Initial spray was a bit dirty smelling and off putting. Then it dries down into a sweet, creamy, toasty coconut. Dry down is really nice.

The best rice fragrance I’ve smelled. This is what I wanted Diptiques’ L’eau Papier to smell like. Sweet, lovely lactonic rice following a sweet juicy mango. It was my bedtime scent tonight. It lasts longer on fabric than on my skin. Will try over a heavier moisturizer tomorrow. I want to smell like this all day long. So well done!
