Some fragrances announce themselves. This one doesn't, and that is the whole point. Apple and pear open it, bright and clean, before fig and white flowers pull it somewhere softer. It ends warm — tonka, vanilla, a little amber.
MITH turned eleven this year and gave the brief to Nathalie Lorson, who has composed some of the most-worn fragrances of the last two decades. What came back is the one you reach for on an ordinary Tuesday and still get asked about.

The smell of rain has a name.
It's called petrichor, and it was named in 1964. What your nose actually finds is geosmin — a compound made by soil bacteria that humans can detect at a few parts per trillion.
Two of these name it outright, both from NOMR. The rest are chasing something else entirely: aquatic, marine, watery, mineral — the smell of the water, not the ground it lands on. Same weather, opposite halves.
A rain accord over wet mud. A river after dark. Lotus opening on a pond.

In Thailand the grill sits in the middle of the table and everyone cooks their own. SIAM 1928 bottled that meal and kept the part nobody expects — green cabbage, crisp at the edge of the pan, and the soybean sauce you drag everything through.
It wears closer than it sounds. Green and peppery at first, then quietly savoury, settling into white musk and sandalwood. Composed by Nutt Wesshasartar, bottled in hand-finished porcelain, and made once — a thousand bottles for the whole world.
