Thai sato with a feeling worth forgetting for.

Japan has sake made from rice.
Thailand has its own rice based alcoholic drink called sato.

Sato is often associated with traditional homemade fermentation,
where flavor and quality can be difficult to control.
Devanom applies fermentation science and its own pure yeast strains
to make sato cleaner, more expressive, and more consistent
while preserving its original character.

Luem Pua is based on sato made from black sticky rice from Sakon Nakhon.
The name, meaning forget husband,
comes from a Thai expression for food so delicious
that you keep eating and forget to save some for the person beside you.

It opens with sato and berries,
creating a juicy, sweet and sour impression
with a distinct fermented character.
Yoghurt adds a soft lactic acidity,
giving the scent more depth and the impression of a fermented drink.

The fruity notes gradually shift into steamed sticky rice,
coconut, and palm sugar.
Coconut blossom nectar adds the aromatic sweetness of coconut nectar,
making this the most distinctly Thai part of the fragrance.

Vetiver and sandalwood gradually dry the sweetness
into woody, earthy, and rooty tones.
Musk softens the fragrance and keeps it close to the skin,
leaving a subtle trace of rice and coconut sweetness in the background.

Luem Pua is not merely a gourmand.
It is a Thai drink retold,
familiar, and completely its own.
